Having realize the debt of leadership in our society “CLAN” decides to take it as a responsibility in making sure our leadership is re-defined through proper re-orientation of our citizens across the country through capacity-building and public policy advocacy.

A key important factor of accessing a quality democracy is the level of governance at the local, state and the federal level. CLAN is promoting active participation in governance through her citizens using social media tools, traditional media platform, capacity-building and public policy advocacy. It is also an avenue to checkmate public officials at various levels of government.

CLIMATE CHANGE ADVOCATE,  AND CAPACITY BUILDING ON RENEWABLE ENERGY

As part of CLAN’s core mandate, orientation and sensitization on environmental education are important tools for inculcating the values of environmental guardianship in various levels of governments and most importantly the local communities. The environmental education unit of the Clearpath Leadership Awareness Network executes these responsibilities by ensuring that stakeholders are exposed to practical knowledge of the environment. The Unit is able to accomplish this mandate through an active partnership with stakeholders.

  • Keffi capacity building on renewable energy: CLAN organized keffi beneficiaries into different working groups. Beneficiaries were trained on group dynamics and leadership skills for business management. They were also trained on how to mitigate and adapt to climate change using solar systems at the same time providing clean energy for consumption and ultimately cutting down emissions.
  • NYSC capacity building on renewable energy: The NYSC beneficiaries were trained in batches according to their call upcall-up assignments, it was a series of training that lasted 6 months in different communities across the country. It was a scale-up training on how to mitigate and adapt to climate change using renewable energy such as solar. CLAN also trained NYSC beneficiaries on the relevant skills and knowledge needed for building and installing off-grid solar systems.
  • Building and Installing solar system training in Nasarawa state. About 80 youth and women beneficiaries were drafted from 11 wards located in Egon local government, Nasarawa state. These beneficiaries were equipped with the relevant skills and knowledge on how to build and install an off-grid standalone solar system for business, job creation, poverty reduction, and ultimately cut down emissions. Beneficiaries were also trained on how to take accurate data and information before designing a solar system. Such as Solar irradiation of the site and the load estimate of the project site.

CLAN also provides printed educational materials to acquaint stakeholders about the environment, some of the activities being carried out in the organization, and share information to further equip citizens with literature on contemporary issues on the environment.
